CLASSES

I  train faculty and staff at higher education institutions.  These classes include how to design curriculum for students with disabilities and how to use associated software.  I've designed and taught over a hundred customized classes.  Here are a few of them:

Universal Design for the Classroom

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a concept of designing instructional materials with accessibility in mind.  This course teaches instructors a few basic tools to use to increase the level of access that students of different abilities have when attending their classes. 

Using Read & Write to Assist Non-Native English Speakers

Read & Write software has several features that can specifically help non-native English speakers.  We go through several fo the features in this hands-on course.  

 

Accessibility Awareness

This course is geared toward groups of staff and/or faculty.  It includes basic disability etiquette as well as tips for how to make your environment safe and accessible for those with compromised vision and/or hearing as well as people using mobility aids.
